Our Philosophy

A home that became a place to stay.

Chandrodaya began with something simple: a home in the old city of Udaipur. Over time, different parts of the building evolved into spaces shared with travellers from around the world.

Today, Chandrodaya is a small collection of individually designed apartments within one owner-run home. We live here. We know the neighbourhood, the shortcuts, the best times to visit the lake and the little places that don’t necessarily appear on a tourist map.

Not simply giving you a room for the night, but giving you a comfortable base from which to experience Udaipur as a city.

The rooftop terrace is one of our favourite parts of the home. Come up, slow down, and look across the rooftops of old Udaipur. There is an open sitting area with a swing, places to sit and enjoy the evening, and a growing terrace garden.

Prepared fresh in our family home kitchen rather than a commercial buffet. Requested the previous night or with 2–3 hours' notice.

Charged transparently at ₹10 per unit via visible individual meters to encourage conscious energy use. We waive up to 10 units daily. Typical usage is only around ₹100/day.

Parking & Reaching Us

Cars cannot navigate narrow inner lanes. Nearest major indoor facility: Chandpole Car Parking (~₹480/day), about a 400m walk or quick rickshaw ride to Chandrodaya.

Stairs & Accessibility

Authentic old city home with no elevator. Upper floors and rooftop are reached via stairs. Ground-floor apartments (The OG & Studio) are recommended for guests with mobility concerns.

Check-in: 12:00 PM · Check-out: 10:00 AM. Flexible whenever reservations permit. Guaranteed early morning arrivals can be accommodated by blocking the previous night.
